Alzheimer’s & Dementia Treatment in Rockville, MD
A Personalized Program to Protect and Restore Your Memory
Memory loss is not just “normal aging.”
For years, people were told that Alzheimer’s disease was inevitable… progressive… and that nothing meaningful could be done.
Families were advised to “prepare,” but not to hope.
That is no longer true.
A recent study has now shown that a personalized, root-cause approach helped patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and early Alzheimer’s disease actually improve their memory and thinking skills — not just slow decline.
Unlike many drug trials that only slow the disease, this approach showed measurable improvement in memory, executive function, and overall brain performance.
This research forms the foundation of Dr. Matthew Mintz’s Alzheimer’s & Dementia Program in Rockville, Maryland.

Alzheimer’s disease does not happen “out of nowhere.”
In most people, memory decline develops because of multiple stressors on the brain over time.
These may include:
- Chronic inflammation
- High blood sugar or insulin resistance
- Hormonal decline
- Vitamin and nutrient deficiencies
- Chronic infections
- Poor sleep or sleep apnea
- Mold or toxin exposure
- Gut problems
- Vascular disease
- Hearing and sensory loss
When we identify and correct these drivers, we can often slow, stabilize, and sometimes even improve memory function.
Instead of asking, “What drug treats Alzheimer’s?”; we need to ask:
“What is stressing this person’s brain — and how do we fix it?”
That shift changes everything!
Can Memory Loss Really Improve?
- Most patients improved
- Memory and executive function scores increased
- Overall health markers improved
- Results were stronger than several major drug trials
- Benefits happened without side effects seen with medication
No ethical physician promises a cure, but we can confidently say this:
Memory decline is often modifiable — especially when addressed early.
The earlier we act, the better the outcome.

We work to:
- Improve energy production in brain cells
- Restore insulin sensitivity
- Improve blood flow to the brain
- Reduce inflammation
- Support detox pathways
- Strengthen synaptic connections
- Activate neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to form new connections)
This is whole-person medicine.
Not symptom management — but root-cause care.
Why Not Just See a Neurologist?
Neurologists are excellent at diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease and prescribing medications.
But most traditional care focuses on managing the disease after it has already started — working to slow progression and manage symptoms. In addition, many medications offer modest benefit and may carry side effects.
This program focuses on identifying and treating the underlying causes of memory decline.
The goal is not just to slow things down — but, when possible, to improve brain function.
It uses targeted lifestyle changes, nutrition, and supplements that are supported by research and are generally well tolerated
Dr. Mintz works with your neurologist — you don’t have to choose one or the other.
Dr. Mintz can:
- Use your prior MRI scans, labs, and cognitive testing
- Work alongside your neurologist and other doctors
- Build a plan that goes beyond what standard care offers
Diagnosis is important.
But addressing the cause is what changes the outcome.
