What is Longevity and Anti-Aging Medicine?

Longevity and Anti-Aging medicine is more than just reversing the clock; it’s about enhancing your vitality and resilience at every stage of life. Like other Longevity and Anti-Aging Medicine experts such as Dr. Mark Hyman and Dr. Peter Attia, Dr. Mintz believe that many of the diseases associated with aging are preventable and treatable, and by addressing the root causes of aging, Dr. Mintz can empower you to not only slow down the aging process and live longer, but also thrive as you age with vitality and vigor.

Longevity and Anti-Aging Medicine investigates the biological, environmental, and lifestyle factors that affect lifespan. Areas of focus include genetics, metabolism, cellular aging, hormones, and environmental factors such as toxin exposures, nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress management.

Lifespan vs. Healthspan

While almost everyone wants to live longer, no one wants to get older. Increasing your lifespan, or the chronological number of years one lives, is only of real value if you can do so with health and vitality. Increasing your healthspan is not only adding years to your life, but also ensuring you are at your peak health during those years. Healthy aging is about both living long and living well.

What We Do:

Personalized Health Optimization: Dr. Mintz tailors each treatment plan to your unique needs, considering your medical history, genetic predispositions, lifestyle factors, and personal goals. Whether you’re seeking to boost energy levels, improve cognitive function, or enhance physical performance, we design a roadmap to help you achieve your healthiest self.

Disease Prevention: Prevention is the cornerstone of longevity. Conventional preventative screening remains important but may not be enough. Through advanced diagnostics and proactive screening, we identify potential health risks before they manifest, allowing for early intervention and mitigation. From heart disease and diabetes to cancer and neurodegenerative conditions, we implement strategies to minimize risk factors and promote long-term wellness and optimal health.

Healthspan Extension: Aging gracefully isn’t just about adding years to your life; it’s about adding life to your years. Recent scientific advances have enabled us to measure the aging process or biological age, so we can intervene and even reverse aging. Dr. Mintz employs evidence-based testing, treatments and lifestyle modifications to extend your healthspan—the period of life free from chronic disease and disability. By optimizing nutrition, managing stress, promoting physical activity, and addressing age-related hormonal imbalances, we help you enjoy a vibrant and fulfilling life well into your golden years.

Conventional and Integrative Approaches: We believe in harnessing the best of both worlds—traditional medicine and alternative therapies. Dr. Mintz integrates the latest advancements in conventional medicine with holistic modalities such as nutritional supplementation, genomic and advanced biomarker testing, as well as mind-body practices to create a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

What to Expect:

Pre-visit assessment: Prior to your visit, in addition to registration, you will complete a detailed assessment of your health history, risk factors, and goals for Dr. Mintz’ program.

Initial consultation: The first consultation is one hour long and conducted in person with Dr. Mintz. It will include a detailed history, physical examination, and blood and urine testing. Dr. Mintz will discuss his approach to longevity and anti-aging, review your preferences and goals, and get you started on your longevity journey even before your results are back.

Additional testing: While blood and urine will be drawn during the initial consultation some additional testing, such as imaging, will be scheduled immediately afterwards at locations in Dr. Mintz’s medical building. Other advanced optional testing is sent to your home. Once all results are back, Dr. Mintz’ staff will schedule you for your follow up consultation.

Follow up consultation: The second visit is also one hour long and is conducted in person or via telemedicine based on your preference. Dr. Mintz will review your testing results, provide a detailed analysis, and generate a personalized longevity program based on these results and your individual goals and preferences.

Certain functional medicine testing, such as metabolism and gut microbiome analysis can lead to more precise and effective recommendations to optimize your health (price varies).
  • Advanced age assessment -while your biologic age assessment is included with Dr. Mintz’ Longevity Program, this assessment is based on traditional labs that are covered by insurance. To get a more precise biologic age as well as risk assessment for diseases like cancer and death, research has revealed that other markers like methylation patterns and telomere length are more predictive ($375)
